WOW - what an event this is. People build crazy contraptions - powered by peddling. they close down the streets of downtown Lowell. The race is through the streets - a mud pit - and part of the Merrimack river. We went to watch the water portion - but next year maybe Nathanael will get some engineering buddies together to have some fun. or they will bike with the race (just behind the entries). https://www.lowellkinetic.com

This bottom photo 'stampede' were in first place - but the water portion did a number on their vehicle. They do get some time to 'repair'.
